Yitadee was built in the basements of a couple of Virginia Tech Hokie dads as a way to help people answer the question that gets asked over and over, “Where should I live?”
We were born and raised in the very transient DC metro area and so we see this question asked so many times so we thought we’d build a fun website where people can go to get useful answers for their particular situation without catching the same flak you see on web forums like, “There’s already a thread about this, go away!” DC is much friendlier than that 🙂
Local peers and professionals will try and provide meaningful responses to your questions. Why?
- Top commenters can win prizes! We have an overall, monthly, weekly, and per post leaderboard. Occasionally, we’ll award prizes to the best commenters.
- Local experts can showcase their knowledge and build their trust and reputation. It’s really hard for real estate agents to find new clients and really scary for consumers to pick one when they don’t even know the right questions to ask. Yitadee lets local experts showcase their deep knowledge about the area so you can get the warm and fuzzy feeling of trust before you sign any agreements with one.
- It’s fun! We’ve bought a few homes ourselves. We don’t plan on buying another one any time soon but the process of shopping for a home can be really fun. Helping someone else find the right home for their family and avoiding a potential nightmare is rewarding in its own right. Plus we have so much local knowledge that it feels wasteful not to contribute it back to the community!
When you participate on Yitadee, we ask that you provide as much information as possible to help each other out, and that you upvote comments that you support. This helps identify the most meaningful responses and boosts the reputation of those who provide it.
Thanks for checking us out!
